MIRACLES THROUGH MUSIC

The resurrection of Jesus is absolutely one of the most hell shattering spiritual events. That action of life-giving power has freed mankind from the tyranny of sin, sickness, and death. Jesus’ resurrection power is accomplishing miracles in our lives today.
This last week one of my students in the Music of the Kingdom online course at Christ For the Nations, shared a miracle that happened to her daughter.

"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live." John 11:25 ESV
The course discussion question was: How have you seen music change the atmosphere? Vanessa replied, “I witnessed this atmospheric change six and half years ago during a week that would change my life forever. My twelve-year-old daughter was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of clementine orange. We had not experienced any health challenges up to this time, so it was quite a shock.
The week began on a Tuesday night about 9:00 PM with a rushed ambulance trip to the hospital. After a series of seizures in the ER room we were informed of the doctor’s understanding of what was occurring. It was a week of getting to see the depths of a hospital you really don’t want to know exist.
They ushered us into conference rooms lined with tissue boxes to try to get us to accept their diagnosis and prognosis. The Spirit of God walked with us through that ordeal in a supernatural way. Thursday night, before surgery on Friday, one of our church’s worship pastors came to lead worship with our family in our daughter's room.
What should have been a stressful evening by worldly standards, filled with worry leading up to brain surgery, was actually a peaceful life-giving moment. It left everyone on the floor of the hospital filled with wonder and awe. Our worship pastor Zach Neese sang a song that he had just written, Christ the Rock. With just him, us, and a guitar we experienced an atmospheric change.
I will never forget watching the faces of my family, including my daughter, breathe in the presence of God. After reading Psalm 103 many times we slept peaceful that night. The next day when they did surgery the doctors discovered the tumor had been transformed to the consistency of water. My daughter was miraculously healed of that brain tumor.
The doctors spent three months and countless tests trying to find out what was in that water to find nothing. She had been healed, and today is studying to get her degree alongside me at CFNI. That time of worship was one piece of an amazing encounter with God."
What a testimony! My faith is encouraged. This is another example of a kingdom musician, under the authority of the King, playing a song the King commissioned. When the musician obeys, the King’s authority is released and His supernatural power is evident in the miracles that occur. This is what Vanessa was learning in the course Music of the Kingdom. She had experienced this principle herself.
As Eugene Peterson would say, let’s unbutton our lips and sing anthems of Christ’s life-giving resurrection power for what He has done and is doing through His worshipers.
